GENERAL DESCRIPTION
 OSW-341X80 oxygen scavenger is a fast acting liquid formulation that effectively scavenges oxygen in boiler feedwater, passivates metal surfaces in steam/condensate systems, and neutralizes carbonic acid in condensate. It is developed for corrosion control applications for steam/condensate systems, e.g. preboiler and internal boiler water systems. It can provide corrosion protection throughout the steam generating system.
Some dissolved oxygen may still present in feedwater even when the deaerator works effectively. Even at very low concentrations, dissolved oxygen can cause pitting, which can be a serious problem in a high pressure high temperature boiler system. The economizer and feedwater heater are particularly vulnerable to oxygen corrosion.
OSW-341X80 is specially designed as an oxygen scavenger for higher pressure applications where boiler water with minimal TDS needs to be used. It is a much faster scavenger than hydrazine and passivates metal surfaces. It contains no hydrazine thus presents a safer working environment. In application concentration range, OSW-341X80 is compatible with most boiler water treatment chemicals.
